Two Major public events occur each year in the grounds of the Royal House of Sandringham. In late June, the event is the British Carriage Driving Trials - incorporated within the Country Fayre. Later, during July, comes the colourful Sandringham Flower Show, graced for many years by the patronage of HM Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, and attended by visitors from all over the UK. Road races of various lengths have always featured in the leisure calendars of West Norfolk; the courses round the lakes at Leziate were for several years an annual spectacle.
The Wissey Marathon and it's variants at Stoke Ferry has long been a perennial attraction, especially for the Ryston Runners Club, and is still a well attended event today.
